Keewaydin Island: A local beach worth discovering!

On July 11, 2014 CNN included Keewaydin Island in their “10 secret beaches worth discovering.”

Reporter Pam Grout wrote “Pristine and populated with deer, eagles, boars, the occasional panther, sea turtle hatchlings and iguanas, Keewaydin is part of the Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.”

There are no hotels or restaurants on these beautiful beaches, but that’s half the charm. “On weekends, a food boat docks on the south end to dish up icy drinks and freshly caught seafood.”
